It’s FINALLY Friday!! I wanted to share a couple of things with you from my morning before I started a crazy weekend.
Coffee time is my favorite time of day. So much that I wake up an extra 30 minutes each morning to have my coffee, sit in the quiet, and read. This morning, I woke up naturally at 8:00 on the dot… this is a little later than my normal waking time, I think Ashtanga wore my body out last night! I fixed a cup of coffee, made a quick breakfast and headed to the porch to read “Meditations from the Mat” days 10-12.
An hour later, I set out for a peaceful 3 mile run and finished in 26:43. I wasn’t pushing for time today, so I used this time to focus on breath control.
Because I’m really trying to build strength, I headed to the gym to do a workout where I focused on my quads, triceps, biceps, and abs.
I followed this with a large protein shake. NutriBiotic sent me several samples of their Rice Protein Powder. I blended organic Soy Milk with the mixed berry flavor and 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries… after tasting, I added a couple drops of raw, organic Blue Agave Sweetener.
This is a gluten-free, vegan, whole grain protein powder made from grinding whole grain, sprouted brown rice into a fine flour. It’s formed into a protein powder by a chemical-free process. The product I used was not organic but they do offer organic powders as well.
Because I like appliances that are easy to clean, I use a hand-held blender… it works wonders! I hate having chunks of powder in my shakes, but with this sucker that’s impossible.
It’s Andrew’s birthday weekend so I’m heading to Greenville, SC this afternoon to celebrate his 24th! We have a busy agenda of beer tasting, running, eating, going to Asheville for the Bele Chere festival, and lots of catching up to do!
I hope your weekend is all that you hope it to be!

Yes, quiet coffee time in the morning is one of my favorites! Nothing like a bit of time to read and enjoy your own company.
