I very rarely go out to eat. In fact, I don’t remember the last time I did. But, I broke the streak tonight by going to Erin’s after a wonderful 90 minute Ashtanga practice.
So what brought me to break the streak and eat out??
1. She shops at local farmer’s markets each week and cooks with organic, fresh produce & buys local meats (Andrew would love this). Her cuisine has a southern twist to healthy foods… Who knew that was possible?
2. And, well, the name of the restaurant
The new location just opened in downtown Rock Hill, SC- off Caldwell Street. The atmosphere here was simple yet extremely inviting. What I loved so much was nothing matched- each piece of dinnerware and serve ware was different. The light fixtures hanging from the ceiling didn’t match either. As for the decor, it was VERY simple with white table cloths with white bare walls… but this made it feel serene. The staff was hands down the best!
Walking up to the restaurant under the green trellises felt like I was walking up to a cute little abode.
I REALLY wanted a glass of wine, but I didn’t get served: I ordered a glass of merlot before dinner but I didn’t have my I.D. so my waitress politely denied my order. This made me have so much respect for the staff. I have been to so many restaurants in the past that would have served me without asking for my I.D.
To start, we ordered the Hummus &Baba Ghanoush: this came with whole wheat and white pita bread that was served warm. I have a mild obsession with hummus so this was a perfect way to start the meal.
For dinner, I ordered a veggie plate (not listed on the menu) that was absolutely delicious! Another great thing about Erin’s is you can request specific foods based on your dietary needs, just call in advance.
And, because I live by the 80/20 rule- I had a bite, or 2, ok maybe 3, hell almost all of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Fun Cake (if my dad wasn’t there to split this with me, I would have devoured it all). It was definitely worth the 30 extra minutes on the elliptical.. tomorrow…. always tomorrow
Eat good, eat healthy, and smile

Erin posted your review on facebook – and I thought this reviewer looks familiar! What a great review! I haven’t been to Erin’s new location yet, but it is on the list for this week for sure now. It is especially great since local food in walking distance always makes it in our eat out rotation.
I see (via your site) that you are going to teacher training – that is awesome, I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Julie!! I was so excited to see this comment. It was delicious
Hope your weekend is great, and I’ll see you at the next Ashtanga class!
